On May 7, speaking with Lao Dong, the leader of Tuy Phuoc District People's Committee (Binh Dinh Province) said that he had directed local authorities to coordinate with police agencies to verify and clarify the case of an 8th grade male student being assaulted by a classmate.
"After grasping the information, I immediately directed the Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuoc Hung Commune to work with the male student's family and the school, to verify the case. At the same time, request the investigation, clarification, propose appropriate handling directions, resolutely not to recur this situation in the district," he said.
According to initial information, on the afternoon of May 5, L.V.K (an 8th grade student at Phuoc Hung Secondary School) was cursed by a young man, used his hands and objects to repeatedly hit his head and face. Faced with the opponent's aggression, K could only bend his head and endure the blow, not daring to resist.
Mr. L.M.K (K's parent) said that after being beaten, K returned home silently and did not recount the incident because he was afraid of revenge and being criticized on social media. Only when they discovered the child's face was swollen and bruised did the family take K to the hospital. "Currently, my child is still in a state of mental panic," said Mr. K.
On the same day, the leader of Phuoc Hung Commune Police confirmed that there was an incident where K was physically assaulted by a friend. "The incident occurred in Nhon An commune (An Nhon town), so Phuoc Hung commune police only coordinated to invite related individuals to work. Currently, Nhon An Commune Police are taking statements from the subjects," he said.
As Lao Dong reported, in less than a month, in Binh Dinh province, there have been consecutive cases of female students being beaten by group friends, filming clips and posting them on social networks, causing public outrage.
On the afternoon of April 12, at the land at the foot of De Gi bridge (Cat Khanh commune, Phu Cat district), a female student was repeatedly hit in the head, face, and abdomen by a group of friends using a helmet with the same hand and foot.
Through verification, the female student beaten was N.T.T.H (a 7th grade student at My Thanh Secondary School, Phu My District). The group of female students who participated in beating H included L.T.D.T ( studying at the same school as H); V.T.Q.N (grade 8 student at Cat Thanh Secondary School, Phu Cat district) and D.T.A.T (leaving school).
On the afternoon of April 19, a clip was circulated on social media recording a scene of a female student being brutally beaten by two other female friends in the middle of an empty lot. Through verification, this incident occurred on March 23 (Sunday), at the new An Nhon market area (Binh Dinh ward, An Nhon town).
The victim was N.P.K.V, an 8th grade student at Binh Dinh Ward Secondary School. The two students who participated in beating V were L.B.A.N (grade 9 at Dap Da Ward Secondary School, wearing a red shirt) and D.T.D.A (grade 8 at Binh Dinh Ward Secondary School, in a blue and black shirt). The person standing outside to stir up and film the clip was N.B.Tr (class 9 at Binh Dinh Ward Secondary School).
At noon on April 16, at a snail restaurant in Nhon Hanh commune (An Nhon town), T.A.M (a 8th grade student at Nhon Hanh Secondary School) was assaulted by N.K.L (a 11A1 class student at Hoa Binh High School, An Nhon town) in the presence of many students.
Faced with the above situation, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan has directed the Department of Education and Training to coordinate with localities to urgently inspect, clarify, and strictly handle the incidents. At the same time, it is required to consider the responsibilities of relevant individuals and groups.
