On March 11, speaking with Lao Dong Newspaper, the leader of the People's Committee of Song Cau town (Phu Yen) said that the authorities are investigating and clarifying the case of a 7th grade female student being beaten by a friend, filming a clip and posting it on social media.
According to initial information, about a month ago, Nguyen Thi Ly N (16 years old, residing in Xuan Canh commune, Song Cau town) went to Xuan Thinh commune to play and became acquainted with Pham Thi Thuy C (13 years old, 7th grade student at Dinh Tien Hoang Secondary School, Xuan Thinh commune).
On March 6, through social network Facebook, C asked to borrow N's dress to attend her birthday party, but N did not agree. The two sides then had a conflict.
On March 9, N and two friends went to Xuan Thinh commune. When they saw C walking with friend T, N's group dragged the two students onto a motorbike, took them to an area near a school, beat C, and used their phones to record the incident.
When they discovered someone passing by, the group continued to take C and T to another location and continued to beat and question them.
On March 10, a clip recording C being beaten quickly spread on social media, causing public outrage and outrage at the group's violent behavior and vulgar words.
According to the clip, N used his hands and feet to repeatedly hit C's face and back, along with threats and questions that made C scream and be afraid.
The leader of Song Cau Town People's Committee said that Xuan Thinh Commune Police had invited related individuals to work. Through verification, it was determined that N was the one who directly beat C, and the people accompanying him encouraged and filmed the clip. Currently, the Commune Police are consolidating the case file to handle it according to the law.
"Immediately after discovering the incident, I visited and encouraged C and his family. Currently, his spirit is stable and he still goes to school normally this morning," he said.
