On November 10, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, teacher Trinh Van Cuong, Principal of Muong Lat Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities (Muong Lat Commune, Thanh Hoa Province) said that the problem of hundreds of students of the school having to go to the stream to bathe due to lack of water has now been completely resolved.

More than a week ago, the local government repaired the section of the ditch that had sunk due to the previous storm. The water has now receded and is being brought to school, so students no longer have to go to the stream to bathe like before" - Mr. Cuong informed.
According to Mr. Cuong, before the shortage of domestic water, the school had bought pipes to bring water to the school. However, due to unfavorable terrain, this solution cannot be implemented. Fortunately, the commune has completed the repair of the sunken ditch and the water source has been restored.
Currently, although the ditch water has returned, the school continues to drill additional wells (3rd well) to ensure a stable water source in the long term. According to Mr. Cuong, every year, around February, the water source from the ditch is often lacking due to the need to supply many residential areas of many communes. Therefore, if the well drilling is convenient, it will ensure a long-term water source for students.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, in October 2025, Muong Lat Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities faced a serious shortage of domestic water. The reason was that the recent storm collapsed a long ditch (under the management of Song Chu Irrigation Company Limited), paralyzing the entire domestic water supply system to the school.
To ensure the safety and hygiene of students, every afternoon, teachers have to take hundreds of students to the Poong stream area (about 700m from school) to bathe. The incident caused many inconveniences to students and teachers, especially as winter approached.
