On October 28, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, teacher Trinh Van Cuong, Principal of Muong Lat Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities (Muong Lat Commune, Thanh Hoa Province) said that to overcome the shortage of domestic water for 245 students, the school has decided to invest in a water pipeline about 1km long to bring water from the ditch system to the school.

"After the incident, the school drilled a well, but there was only enough water for the sanitation system, and there was no showering water, forcing hundreds of students to go to the stream to bathe. To overcome this situation, the school decided to invest in about 1km of pipes (a type with a diameter of 5cm) to bring water to the school, Mr. Cuong informed.
According to Mr. Cuong, to reduce investment costs, the school bought pipes and then mobilized teachers to participate in installing pipes. It is expected to be completed tomorrow (October 29). When completed, the water source will basically meet the living needs of students, ending the situation where they have to go to the stream to bathe.

Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, for about 20 days now, Muong Lat Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities has been facing a serious shortage of domestic water. The reason was that the recent storm collapsed a long ditch (under the management of Song Chu Irrigation Company Limited), paralyzing the entire domestic water supply system to the school.
To ensure the safety and hygiene of students, every afternoon, teachers have to take hundreds of students to the Poong stream area (about 700m from school) to bathe. The incident not only causes inconvenience to students but also to teachers of the school, especially as winter approaches.
