Da Nang urgently overcomes the consequences of floods, does not let people go hungry, lack clean water and proactively respond to extreme weather at the end of the year.

The People's Committee of Da Nang City has just issued Official Letter No. 3330/UBND-PTDS requesting departments, branches, localities and related units to focus on overcoming the damage caused by the heavy floods in recent days, while proactively responding to complex weather developments from now until the end of 2025.

From October 25 to now, in many areas in Da Nang City, heavy to very heavy rain has occurred, with total rainfall in many places exceeding 1,000mm. Some places have particularly heavy rainfall such as Tra Giap 1,752.6mm, Phuoc Chanh 1,558.2mm, Phuoc Thanh 1,517.8mm, TDC Tak Pat (Tra Leng) 1,503mm and Phuoc Hiep 1,459.6mm.

Prolonged heavy rain caused serious landslides in many mountainous areas, damaged traffic routes, isolated many residential areas, and dozens of households had to be urgently evacuated. The water level of the rivers rose, of which the Vu Gia River in Ai Nghia reached 10.6m, exceeding alert level 3 by 1.6m; the Thu Bon River in Cau Lau reached 5.62m, exceeding alert level 3 by 1.62m - higher than the historical flood level in 1964.

It is forecasted that from November 1, Da Nang will continue to have moderate rain, heavy rain, some places with very heavy rain and thunderstorms due to the influence of the strengthening cold air combined with the tropical convergence zone. In that situation, the City People's Committee requested units to quickly support people to overcome the damage, proactively prevent natural disasters with the spirit of "four on-site", resolutely, not to be passive and surprised, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property.

At the same time, it is required to regularly report the damage situation and recovery progress to the City Civil Defense Command to synthesize reports to the City Party Committee, People's Committee and the Central Committee.

The City People's Committee requests heads of departments, branches, sectors, and chairmen of People's Committees of communes and wards to seriously implement and work with people to soon stabilize their lives and production after floods.

Millions of arms turn to compatriots affected by storms and floods

Consecutive storms and floods have caused many deaths, missing and injuries; many houses and production and business establishments have had their roofs blown off and suffered heavy damage. People across the northern mountainous provinces and the central provinces are struggling to cope with floods and heavy losses in human lives and property due to floods and thunderstorms.
