Along with students across the country, students across Da Nang City will officially enter the 2025-2026 school year. The preparation atmosphere has spread throughout schools from the inner city to the mountains and coastal areas, signaling a bustling, high-expected school opening season.
The new school year takes place in a special context when Da Nang merges with Quang Nam, the population and geography are expanded. This is both an opportunity and a new challenge for the education sector in ensuring learning conditions, improving quality and maintaining educational fairness.
Up to this point, most schools in the area have completed preparations. The city spends about 890 billion VND to build new, renovate, repair, and upgrade classrooms, department rooms, functional rooms, and toilets to meet the needs of teaching and learning in 2 sessions/day.
At Nguyen Binh Khiem Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities (Tra Doc commune), the block of classrooms and boarding houses worth 10 billion VND from the National Target Program in 2024 is being urgently completed, adding 8 new classrooms and 26 boarding rooms.

Caring for students, improving the quality of education
According to Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang, in parallel with facilities, the industry focuses on improving the quality of teaching and caring for students in disadvantaged areas. This year, the "Love Day 2025" program was implemented, mobilizing support for textbooks, learning tools, and health insurance for students, striving for 100% of students to participate in health insurance.
The city currently has 486 schools meeting national standards, including 191 kindergartens, 146 primary schools, 138 secondary schools and 11 high schools - an important foundation to continue improving the quality of education. In addition to issuing guidelines and tasks for the 2025-2026 school year, the department also details the key activities of each field so that units can proactively develop appropriate, flexible and effective education plans.
With the spirit of opening schools after the merger, the Da Nang Education sector determines the responsibility to both improve the quality of mass education and promote the spearhead, not leaving any students behind. The new school year is not only a journey to sow knowledge but also an opportunity for the city's education to affirm its pioneering role in building and developing high-quality human resources, meeting the requirements of socio-economic development in the new period.
