Hanoi University of Science and Technology announced its expected enrollment plan for 2026 on the evening of October 23.
Accordingly, the school plans 3 admission methods in 2026, including: Talent admission; thinking assessment test scores; high school graduation exam scores.
The talent admission method is divided into 3 groups: Direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; admission according to capacity profile combined with interview; admission according to international certificate.
With the admission method according to international certificates, candidates need to have an average of 8 or higher for each school year of grades 10, 11, and 12; have at least 1 of the International certificates: SAT, ACT, A-Level, AP, IB. For international certificates with subject component scores assessed in letter systems, the table converts to scores as follows:
With the admission method based on competency records combined with interviews, candidates need to have an average score of 8 or higher in 3 years of high school and meet one of the following conditions:
Selected to participate in the National Excellent Student Competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training or won First, Second, Third, and Encouragement prizes in the provincial/city Excellent Student Competition organized by the Departments of Education and Training, Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Hue University, Hanoi National University of Education, Ho Chi Minh City National University of Education, Vinh University, Viet Bac Highlands School for the highest education, and issued certificates of winning prizes in Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, Foreign Language, and Complex during high school;
Selected to participate in the National Science and Technology Competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training;
Selected to participate in the Road to Olympia competition from the round of 16 months or more;
Students majoring in Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, IT, Foreign Languages of specialized high schools and high schools nationwide, specialized classes, specialized systems of national universities, universities, and regional universities.
Regulations on the calculation of candidate's competency profile scores: The candidate's competency profile score (HSNL) is calculated as follows (maximum 100 points):
HSNL Score = Thinking Score + Achievement Score + Bonus Score
With the admission method based on the thinking assessment test score (TSA), considering the high school graduation exam score, candidates need to achieve the floor score according to the regulations of Hanoi University of Science and Technology (notice later).
Hanoi University of Science and Technology maintains 11 admission combinations and main subjects according to previous years including: A00, A01, A02, B00, D01, D04, D07, D26, D28, D29 and K01.
Candidates applying for admission to English teaching programs, FL1 programs (English, science and technology), FL3 ( Chinese, science and technology), in addition to the necessary conditions (according to the admission methods), candidates must have one of the following conditions in English or Foreign Language proficiency:
Have a VSTEP English certificate of B1 level or higher;
Have an IELTS (academic) certificate of 5.0 or higher or equivalent;
With a high school graduation exam score in 2026 in English, the score is 6.5 points or higher.
For candidates applying for admission to international training affiliated programs including TROY-BA, TROY-IT, FL2 (international Professional English), in addition to the necessary conditions (according to the admission methods), candidates must have one of the following English proficiency conditions:
Have a VSTEP English certificate of B2 level or higher;
Have an IELTS (academic) certificate of 5.5 or higher or equivalent.
