The Vietnam Aviation Academy is a public higher education institution in the national education system. The Academy was established under Decision No. 168/2006/QD-TTg dated July 17, 2006 of the Prime Minister; is a type 1 autonomous public service unit under Decision No. 1602/QD-BGTVT dated December 8, 2023 on giving financial autonomy for the period 2023-2025 to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam.
The Academy has been a member of the training organization for aviation international TRAINAIR PLUS under the International Aviation Organization (ICAO) since May 2020.
