Hanoi National University's High School Aptitude Assessment (HSA)
According to the announcement of Hanoi National University, this year's exam consists of three parts, of which Mathematics and Data Processing, Literature - Language are two compulsory parts, along with an optional Science part.
The Mathematics and Data Processing section consists of 50 questions, lasting 75 minutes (35 multiple choice questions, 15 fill-in-the-blank questions). The content is in the fields of algebra, analysis, geometry and measurement, statistics and probability.
The Literature - Language section consists of 50 multiple choice questions, which candidates will complete in 60 minutes. The questions use materials related to many areas of life such as literature, language (vocabulary, grammar, communication activities, language development and language variations, writing), culture, society, history, geography, art...
For the optional part, candidates can choose between Science and English. In the Science part, candidates choose 3 out of 5 topics: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History and Geography. Each topic has 17 questions.
The English section consists of 50 multiple choice questions, designed for admission to foreign language training programs.
Regarding questions, the way of asking questions, and the content of questions in the HSA exam will also have many changes. Each exam topic will have cluster questions in all sections. In a context of the test data, 1-3 different questions will be asked to assess the candidate's overall ability.
Multiple choice questions can be new topics with given material, requiring candidates to identify, analyze and propose solutions to the given problem.

Ho Chi Minh City National University's Aptitude Test
In 2025, the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment test will still include 120 objective multiple-choice questions in 150 minutes. The maximum score is 1,200 points, in which the score of each question has different weights depending on the difficulty of the question.
The exam consists of 3 main parts: Language use (Vietnamese and English), Mathematics and Scientific thinking.
Accordingly, the structure of the Language and Mathematics sections remains stable but the number of questions increases.
Meanwhile, the Scientific Thinking section is structured based on the Logic - Data Analysis and Problem Solving sections of previous years, aiming to assess candidates' ability in logic and scientific reasoning when solving real-life situations in the fields of science, technology, economics and society.
The questions in the Scientific Thinking section are designed to provide information, data, facts, experimental planning, and experimental results, thereby requiring candidates to demonstrate their ability to understand and apply information, determine experimental results, and predict laws.
Competency assessment exam of 2 teacher training schools
With the Hanoi National University of Education's competency assessment exam, there are a total of 8 subjects for candidates to register according to their admission needs, including Math, Literature, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, and Geography.
The new point in this year's exam is that it combines multiple choice and essay questions, in which the multiple choice question formats are similar to the question formats in the 2025 high school graduation exam, including 4-choice multiple choice, true/false multiple choice and short answer multiple choice.
Meanwhile, the exam organized by Ho Chi Minh City University of Education includes 6 exams: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, and English.
The Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology exams consist of 40 questions, divided into three parts. As for Literature, the exam consists of 22 questions in three parts: reading comprehension (multiple choice); writing a short paragraph; and essay.
For English, the exam structure remains the same, consisting of four parts: listening, speaking, reading and writing. The materials are taken from many different fields.
Thinking Assessment (TSA) of Hanoi University of Science and Technology
The structure of the thinking assessment exam announced by Hanoi University of Science and Technology remains stable compared to last year because the school has changed the content and format of the exam from 2023 according to the new general education program.
The test consists of 3 parts: Mathematical Thinking (60 minutes), Reading Comprehension (30 minutes) and Scientific Thinking/Problem Solving (60 minutes). The questions focus on assessing the candidate's thinking ability, not directly testing knowledge of any subject.
The maximum score for the test is 100 and the test is taken on a computer.
