The Ministry of Education and Training has just announced the high school graduation exam scores for 2026.
There are 1,192,437 candidates participating in the Math exam, of which the average score is 5.65 points (an increase of 0.87 compared to 2025).
The median score is 5.5 points; the score with the most candidates achieving is 5 points.

The number of candidates with scores <= 1 is 253 (accounting for 0.021%); the number of candidates with scores below average is 452,838 (accounting for 37.98%).
The average score that the most candidates achieved is 5, while last year it was 4.75 points.
If in 2025, only 513 candidates achieved a score of 10, the rate of achieving a score of 10 per 1,000 candidates is 0.4555, this year, the number of scores of 10 has skyrocketed to 4,208 students. The rate of a score of 10 per 1,000 candidates is 3.5289.
In which, Hanoi is the locality with the highest number of perfect scores in Math (676 perfect scores). Followed by Ho Chi Minh City, Nghe An, Ninh Binh, Hung Yen, Bac Ninh with 445, 350, 287, 286, 272 perfect scores in order.

Lai Chau and Dien Bien are the 2 provinces with the lowest scores of 10 in Mathematics, at 7 and 3 respectively.
And if we compare the average of the 2026 high school graduation exam in Mathematics, the position of provinces and cities has changed.
Specifically, Ninh Binh leads with an average score of 6.265. Followed by Ho Chi Minh City (6.189 points), Hanoi (6.164 points), Hai Phong (6.011 points), Hung Yen (5.988 points),...
Meanwhile, Son La has the lowest average score in the country (4,245 points).
There are 11 provinces/cities with an average high school graduation exam score higher than the national average (5,652 points).
