Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee officially has a decision on issuing the framework plan for the 2026-2027 school year for preschool education, general education and continuing education.
Accordingly, Dong Thap province organizes the opening ceremony on September 05. Facilities start schooling no earlier than 01 week before the opening ceremony. For grades 1, 9, and 12, start schooling no earlier than 02 weeks before the opening ceremony.
End the first semester before January 11, 2027, complete the program and end the school year before May 31, 2027. Consider the recognition of completing the primary school program and consider the recognition of completing the secondary school program before June 30, 2027.
Complete enrollment for the first grades before July 31, 2027.
The high school graduation exam is expected to take place on June 11-12, 2027.
Other national-level exams are organized according to the regulations and guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Details of each level of education
This decision also provides specific information about the time frame for the 2026-2027 school year. Accordingly, for preschool education and general education, there are 35 weeks of actual study (term I has 18 weeks, term II has 17 weeks).
At the preschool level, from August 28 - April 9, 2026, focus on welcoming children, stabilizing order, preparing for the opening of the new school year. The program entry date is September 7, 2026. The first semester ends on January 10, 2027.
Semester II from January 11, 2027 and ends before May 23, 2027 (except for 02 weeks of Lunar New Year holiday).
Summary of the school year and consideration for recognition of completion of the preschool education program from May 24, 2027 to May 30, 2027.
For primary school, school starts on August 24, 2026 for grade 1; August 28, 2026 for grades 2, 3, 4, 5.
Grade 1, from April 24 - September 9, 2026, will stabilize, build a disciplined classroom and organize the teaching of lesson number 0.
Grades 2, 3, 4, 5, from April 28-8, September 9, 2026, stabilize order, activities at the beginning of the school year and review, consolidate knowledge for students.
Information starts (term I, II) and ends of term I similar to preschool level. End of term II is no later than May 23, 2027 (including 02 weeks of Lunar New Year holiday).
For secondary school level, school starts on August 22 for grades 9, 12; August 29 for grades 6, 7, 8, 10, 11.
Grades 9, 12, from April 22-8, September 9, 2026, stable order; early school year activities; reviewing and consolidating knowledge for students; preparing for the opening ceremony.
Grades 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, from August 29 - September 4, 2026, stabilize order, activities at the beginning of the school year, prepare for the opening ceremony.
Information about the start and end of semesters I and II is similar to primary school.
For continuing education at the lower secondary and upper secondary levels, there are 35 weeks of actual study (semester I has 18 weeks, semester II has 17 weeks). Opening day on August 29, 2026.
Semester I includes 18 weeks (including actual study and periodic tests), starting from September 7, 2026, ending no later than January 10, 2027.
Semester II, with 17 weeks (including actual study and periodic tests), starting from January 11, 2027, ending at the latest on May 23, 2027 (including 02 weeks of Lunar New Year holiday).
