Lessons outside of class
Among the 30 projects that entered the final round of the contest "Rural Youth Startup Project 2024" organized by the Central Youth Union, the "C Hurricane Tourism" project of Son Tra High School (Da Nang) stands out for its new educational mindset: turning the community into a vibrant learning environment, where people are "teachers", and students are "learner" proactively exploring knowledge.

In the Hoa Bac rural area of Da Nang city - where the pilot project is being implemented - students not only hear stories about farming and traditional crafts, but also directly experience: sowing seeds, picking vegetables, processing dishes, filming, recording and presenting with their own knowledge. Thereby, they practice observation, communication, group work, communication skills, and learn the spirit of respect for indigenous knowledge.
The special feature of the model is that it is not separated from real life, but closely linked to local economic development. People - "lecturers of life" - both share experiences and have additional income from community tourism: accommodation, cuisine, experience guidance. Students, teachers and people together operate a "learning value chain - start-up", both serving educational goals and contributing to promoting sustainable development.
Not only that, the project also creates communication products made by students themselves - such as videos introducing local culture, Hoa Bac eco-tourism handbook or photo exhibition "A day as a farmer". These products both help students demonstrate their creativity and contribute to promoting Da Nang tourism in a green, sustainable and humane direction.
Sowing creative seeds, reaping humanity
The reason why the "C Hurricane Tourism" project reached the final round was highly appreciated by the Organizing Committee of the contest for its humanity, propaganda and clear operating model - harmonious combination of education, economy and culture.
According to Mr. Bui Minh Quang - Principal of Son Tra High School, in recent times, the school has integrated this model into the topics "Local education" and "Career guidance experience activities" so that all students can participate. At the same time, the school coordinated with the government, tourism businesses and youth organizations to expand to other schools, forming a network of "inter-school learning tourism".
Each study trip in Hoa Bac is not only a journey of discovery but also a lesson in love for the homeland, the responsibility to protect the environment, and preserve cultural identity. There, learning is not only to know, but to live better, to be more attached to the community.
Through the contest, it can be seen that today's youth are not only workers but also creatives, masters of technology, pioneers in creating the future and developing digital capacity Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union Nguyen Tuong Lam emphasized at the award ceremony.
From small lessons in Hoa Bac, the "C Hurricane Tourism" project has been sowing creative seeds, nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit, and most importantly - lighting up the belief that when education opens the door to life, life will become the most humane lesson.
The model of Son Tra High School also suggests a direction for many other localities in building "open schools", associated with regional development practices.
If expanded, C Hurricane Tourism can completely become a new career channel where students not only find knowledge, but also find themselves in the community, among the simple but profound values of their homeland.
