On the morning of May 26, the rice drying facility of Hop Tac Commune (HTX) of Giap Tram General Service in Cam Thanh Commune (Cam Xuyen District) is focusing on drying rice after purchasing to help people.
Here, a large truck was picking up the dried rice to transport, while another truck had just purchased the wet rice and was waiting to continue to put it in the drying kiln.
Ms. Le Thi Tram - Director of Giap Tram General Service Cooperative - said that this year's Spring rice harvest, the cooperative started purchasing and drying rice from May 14.
"In the past, the number of dried fish was not much. However, on May 25, after the flood, people could not dry the harvest and were soaked in a large amount of floodwater, so our Cooperative was overloaded. The number of days yesterday was 5 times higher than normal. This morning, I received many calls from people about selling wet rice and renting to dry wet rice," Ms. Tram shared.
Ms. Tram's rice drying facility has 3 drying kilns, each kiln will dry 13 tons at once, the drying time is 12 hours at once.
According to Ms. Tram, the amount of wet rice purchased was large, so yesterday, Giap Tram Cooperative had to transport 200 tons of wet rice to dry and resell in Vinh Phuc and Thai Binh provinces.
To support people to dry wet rice, Ms. Tram said that normally the price of drying a 13-ton rice kiln is 5 million VND, but when people bring the wet rice to rent for drying, the unit only takes 2 million VND to share.
