On September 3, the Department of Education and Training (DET) of Lam Dong province said that it had issued an urgent document to the People's Committees of communes, wards, and special zones to encourage the organization of boarding at primary schools in the 2025-2026 school year.
According to the document, information is currently circulating on social networks about some primary schools that have maintained boarding for many years, but announced to stop next year, causing parents to be confused and upset.
Therefore, the Department of Education and Training requests the People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones to urgently direct and grasp the situation at primary education institutions in the management area.
The Department encourages primary schools to continue maintaining boarding. The People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones have compiled statistics on the number of schools that have organized boarding in the previous school year, but this year they plan to stop (clearly state the reasons), then report to the Department for solutions.

It is known that on August 28, 2025, Lam Dong Provincial People's Council issued Resolution No. 21/NQ-HDND on the application and cancellation of legal documents of the People's Councils of 3 provinces (Binh Thuan, Dak Nong, Lam Dong) before the merger.
Accordingly, Resolution 21 selects Resolution No. 385, dated December 10, 2024 of the People's Council of Lam Dong province (old) on regulations on revenues, collection levels, and revenue and expenditure management mechanisms for educational support services at schools, to be applied throughout the province.
Previously, on August 26, 2025, the Department of Education and Training issued Document No. 570 guiding the organization of teaching and learning in 2 sessions/day for primary schools in the 2025-2026 school year. In which, if they meet the basic conditions, are suitable for reality and have unity and voluntariness between parents, students, and schools.
Schools can plan to report to the People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones for consideration and approval before implementing boarding.
In recent days, many parents in Phan Thiet ward (Lam Dong) have been surprised and worried when teachers informed the school not to organize boarding but to only study 2 sessions/day.
The reason given is that there is no direction on organizing boarding houses, and there are problems in revenue and expenditure, and service employee contracts. Therefore, the school announces that students study from 7am to 10:25am in the morning and from 2pm to 4pm in the afternoon, parents must pick them up and drop them off.
In response to this reflection, Ms. Le Thi Bich Lien - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Lam Dong province - affirmed that the Department did not have any documents or requests to stop boarding in the new school year 2025-2026.
