The rate of fierce competition is expected to increase the standard score for the Pedagogy major
The pedagogical industry continues to maintain great appeal in the 2025 university admission season, although the high school graduation exam scores have decreased and many other industries have lowered their floor scores. Experts predict that the benchmark scores for teacher training majors will be difficult to decrease, and may even increase, because the number of applications is very large and the employment rate is record high, some majors up to 1/200.

In 2024, many Pedagogical majors have recorded the benchmark scores at very high levels, above 28 - 29 points, such as Pedagogy of Literature and History at Hanoi National University of Education. In 2025, many schools will continue to forecast a slight increase in benchmark scores from 0.5 - 0.75 points, typically Hong Duc University or the University of Education (Vietnam National University, Hanoi). School leaders believe that the quality of admission to the Pedagogical major will continue to improve.
One of the reasons for the increasing attraction of the Pedagogical sector is the Law on Teachers, which will take effect from 2026, bringing many new support policies for teachers. In addition, the Ministry of Education and Training requires schools not to announce the admission scores before 12:30 on August 22, after the final virtual filter, to ensure fair and objective admission. Delaying school start time, students have more time to rest
Entering the 2025 - 2026 school year, Ho Chi Minh City will change the morning school hours to comply with the new regulations on reduced periods, from 8 to a maximum of 7 periods/day. This adjustment helps students have more time to rest, eat breakfast and prepare before going to class, while still keeping the school dismissal time frame at around 4pm to facilitate pick-up and drop-off.

Parents and students generally agree with the change. Many children no longer have to be too hasty in the morning, parents also have more reasonable time to move. However, some opinions prefer to keep the old school hours so that students can return home earlier than the lunch break, especially for those who do not take part-time school.
At Nguyen Du Secondary School, the morning school admission time is postponed from 7:15 to 7:130, in the afternoon from 13:00 to 13:30, still ensuring 7 periods/day. The school has arranged a lunch break from 11am to 1:30pm so that students can eat and sleep in the boarding house. The Board of Directors affirmed that this adjustment not only helps students have a more comfortable schedule but also contributes to reducing traffic pressure during rush hour. See more...
Recovering from the flood, schools in Dien Bien face the risk of landslides
The heavy rain and flood on August 1 caused the Chieng So Boarding Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities (Muong Luan Commune, Dien Bien) to be heavily flooded, almost all of its facilities, teaching equipment and administration were completely damaged. Estimated damage is about 2.5 billion VND, directly affecting more than 530 students, of which 330 are boarding students.
Thanks to the timely support from the government, press agencies and the community, the work of cleaning up the school has basically been completed. Many organizations and individuals have supported the school such as the Vietnam Education Publishing House donating 530 sets of textbooks, the Strong People donating 10 sets of computers, 50 sets of new desks and chairs..., helping teachers and students have more motivation to enter the new school year.
However, the school still lacks many important equipment such as photocopy machines, printers, smart interactive screens and professional teaching equipment. In particular, a large crack 50m long and 20cm wide has just appeared right behind the campus, causing a risk of landslides threatening the safety of teachers and students before the new school year.
