As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, the flood that occurred on the morning of August 1 caused the Chieng So Ethnic Boarding - Secondary School (PTDTBT) in Muong Luan Commune, Dien Bien Province to be flooded with floodwaters, causing heavy damage. Almost all facilities and teaching and learning equipment were completely damaged.
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Danh Hy - Principal of the school - said that in recent days, with the support of forces and people, the cleaning and cleaning of the school has basically been completed to be ready to welcome students.



"The concern and support of local authorities and press agencies has first of all encouraged teachers to feel secure in dedicating themselves to education in mountainous areas. After the information was spread, the school has connected the golden hearts and supported materials so that the school can proactively enter the new school year" - Mr. Hy said.
Accordingly, Vietnam Education Publishing House has donated 530 sets of textbooks; benefactors have donated 10 sets of computers for the IT room, 50 sets of new student desks and chairs...
"The gift from benefactors is a great source of encouragement for teachers and students of the school in this difficult time" - the Principal expressed.

Despite receiving a lot of support, in order to start the school year fully, Chieng So Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities still lacks.
Important equipment for teaching and administration such as photocopy machines, printers, smart interactive screens and professional teaching equipment for all 4 grades are still lacking.


"The biggest concern for the school is that right after the school area, a large crack has appeared, about 20cm wide and up to 50m long. It is still raining, the risk of landslides can happen at any time" - the school principal added.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article "Schools in flooded areas are devastated and worries before the new school year". Accordingly, Chieng So Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, Muong Luan commune (with about 530 students, including 330 in boarding) is facing many difficulties when almost all facilities and teaching and learning equipment were flooded with floodwaters on the morning of August 1.

According to the school's leaders, the floodwaters caused 2 photocopy machines, 3 printers, 7 multi-purpose projectors, 20 IT rooms, 4 smart interactive screens, 160 sets of student desks and chairs and 120 sets of blankets for boarding students to be completely damaged.
All books, books, stories and teaching materials were also damaged. Many important books, textbooks and records and degrees of teachers were soaked in water and severely damaged. The total damage is estimated at about 2.5 billion VND.
