School apologizes for publicizing the list of students in difficulty at the opening ceremony
Thai Thinh Primary School (Dong Da District, Hanoi) issued a letter of apology for errors in the opening ceremony of the 2025 - 2026 school year. The school has publicly shown a list of students in difficult circumstances, along with family and disease details, on the big screen in front of all students, parents and guests.

The incident quickly spread on social networks, causing many mixed opinions. Some people think that this is a way to be transparent in information, showing concern for disadvantaged students. However, the majority of public opinion believes that this violates personal data, can make children feel inferior or be discriminated against and bullied.
In the apology letter, the school admitted that mistakes were valuable lessons and pledged to learn from experience and improve organization and education. See more...

Hanoi supports boarding meals, parents reduce the cost burden
Hanoi's boarding meal support policy has received great consensus from parents, helping to reduce the cost burden and creating conditions for students to have a nutritious lunch at school. Thanks to that, the rate of students registering for boarding at schools has increased sharply, such as Khanh Thuong Primary School (Ba Vi commune, Hanoi) with 640/680 students registered, many times more than last year.

However, the biggest challenge at present is facilities. Many schools lack dining rooms, rooms, and specialized tables and chairs. Schools must use department rooms and empty rooms as accommodation, equipping additional cushions and blankets to serve students. Some places also have to borrow tables and chairs from other schools to temporarily meet the demand.
Despite many difficulties, the efforts of schools, local support and consensus from parents are contributing significantly to the implementation of the boarding meal policy in Hanoi, bringing practical benefits to students, especially children of ethnic minorities in disadvantaged areas. Hung Yen tightens management of boarding activities after the incident of 41 students hospitalized
On the afternoon of September 3, after lunch at An My Primary School (Phu Duc Commune, Hung Yen), 41 students and a teacher had to be hospitalized for emergency treatment with symptoms of abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. Phu Duc General Hospital has mobilized medical staff to treat digestive disorders and monitor food poisoning. By September 6, the health of the students and teachers had stabilized, some had been discharged from the hospital and were expected to return home before September 8.
Immediately after the incident, the Department of Education and Training of Hung Yen issued a document requesting schools to only organize boarding when they fully meet the conditions of facilities, personnel, food supply and are approved by parents. The principal is responsible before the law if there are any violations, especially the issue of food safety and hygiene.
The Department's working group directly visited students and teachers, worked with local authorities and the school's Board of Directors. The school has provided records and kept food samples for testing by specialized agencies, and temporarily suspended the boarding meals. The Department requested the People's Committee of Phu Duc commune to review responsibilities and coordinate with the health sector to strengthen the inspection of boarding work to ensure safety and nutrition for students.
