Teachers are entitled to early retirement policy when schools merge
The arrangement and merger of schools in 2026 makes many teachers, principals, vice principals and management officials concerned about the policy of early retirement. Which cases are entitled to benefits according to Decree 154/2025/ND-CP, and how allowances are calculated are issues that many people are exploring.
Decree 154/2025/ND-CP of the Government stipulates staff streamlining, including the policy of early retirement for cadres, civil servants, and public employees subject to streamlining and meeting sufficient conditions according to regulations.
According to the guidance on resolving regimes for officials, civil servants, and public employees affected after the organizational structure arrangement, cases arising after the time of completing the implementation of policies according to Decree 178/2024/ND-CP (amended and supplemented by Decree 67/2025/ND-CP), if they wish to resign and are eligible, they may be considered for application of policies according to Decree 154/2025/ND-CP.
Thus, teachers, principals, vice principals and school management officials affected by the school merger in 2026, if they are streamlined, redundant and meet the conditions on age, social insurance contribution time... will be considered for early retirement benefits according to new regulations.

Adjusting schools for students in Ho Chi Minh City who are divided by routes 8-9 km from home
Ms. Thao Quynh, a parent whose child is entering 6th grade in the 2026-2027 school year in Binh Tan ward (HCMC), said that her child has been adjusted to a school near her house. Previously, this student was assigned to a school about 8-9 km from her residence.
