National Assembly delegate gives reasons for needing a special salary policy for teachers
The Ministry of Education and Training proposes to apply a special salary coefficient for teachers in the draft new Decree: preschool teachers receive a coefficient of 1.25 and general education teachers receive a coefficient of 1.15. If applied, teachers' salaries are expected to increase from 0.8 - 3.7 million VND/month. However, the Ministry of Home Affairs objected, saying that this proposal " has no legal or political basis" and could disrupt the current salary design, and at the same time said that vocational allowances have increased according to Resolution 71-NQ/TW.
National Assembly delegate Nguyen Thi Viet Nga believes that the viewpoint of the Ministry of Home Affairs is no longer appropriate because from 2025, the salary policy for teachers must be based on the 2025 Law on Teachers - the law with the highest legal value, and Resolution 71-NQ/TW requires special and outstanding policies for education and the teaching staff. The National Assembly delegate emphasized that the new law creates a completely new legal framework, so it is impossible to citate old regulations to reject the special salary policy for teachers.
The Vietnamese-Russian delegate affirmed that the development of a specific salary policy for teachers is necessary for three reasons: urgent practical when there is a serious shortage of teachers, strategic requirements to improve the quality of education, and legal basis from the 2025 Teachers' Law to require teachers' salaries to be at the highest level. IELTS test score is changed, many schools say they will review but wait for instructions
After the information that many candidates have changed their IELTS scores due to "technical problems", some universities in Ho Chi Minh City such as Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, University of Economics and Law, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry said that they will review their IELTS scores.
