Teachers in mountainous areas expect new policies with many benefits
With 94.35% of delegates in favor, the National Assembly has officially passed the Law on Teachers - the first law to comprehensively regulate the teaching profession from kindergarten to university. The law establishes the legal status of teachers, protects the honor and dignity of teachers, and stipulates that teachers' salaries are ranked highest in the administrative and career salary system, along with many preferential regimes such as vocational allowances, allowances for disadvantaged areas, specialized schools, etc.

The law allows extra teaching but strictly prohibits forcing students, giving educational institutions more autonomy in recruiting and arranging personnel. This is considered an important step forward to attract quality human resources for the education sector, reduce administrative barriers and improve teaching quality. The establishment of the law creates motivation and peace of mind for teachers, especially in disadvantaged areas.
Many teachers expressed their joy, considering the law a great recognition for the teaching profession. Ms. Bui Thi Tam - a teacher in the mountainous areas of Ha Giang, hopes to lower the retirement age in the mountainous areas due to harsh working conditions. Meanwhile, the principal of Lung Luong Primary School (Vo Nhai, Thai Nguyen) commented that the new policies will contribute to attracting talent, stabilizing the quality of the team and enhancing the prestige of the education sector.
