The Hanoi Department of Education and Training (GDĐT) has just sent a document to the People's Committees of communes and wards; educational institutions in the city on supporting and guiding parents to implement the review of enrollment data at the beginning of the 2026 - 2027 school year.
Accordingly, the People's Committees of communes and wards direct educational institutions to continue reviewing data, accurately updating addresses according to coordinates to synchronize with the enrollment system, serving online enrollment using GIS maps.
According to the plan, the entire data review work must be completed before March 31, as a basis for organizing transparent and effective entrance exams in the 2026 - 2027 school year.
Before the request to review and update enrollment data for the first grade of the 2026 - 2027 school year, many parents in Hanoi have proactively coordinated with schools and local authorities to adjust information for their children. Sharing with reporters, thanks to specific guidance, most parents feel convenient and secure when implementing it.
Ms. Bui Huong Lan (Bo De ward, Hanoi) - whose child is preparing to enter 6th grade - shared that her family had just changed their place of residence and had to update information.
At first, I thought it would be quite complicated because it was related to papers and electronic data. But when I was guided step by step by the teacher, I just needed to check the information on the system, supplement a residence certificate and it was done. The time to do it was very fast, without any obstacles" - Ms. Lan said.
According to Ms. Lan, the most important thing is that parents need to proactively check information early instead of waiting until the deadline.
I did it immediately when I received the notice, so if there is a mistake, I can adjust it in time. The school also reminded me very carefully about the deadline, so I am not under pressure" - she added.
Having a 3-year-old child about to enter kindergarten, Mr. Nguyen Van Minh (Dong Anh commune) said that he was fully guided in the process of preparing documents. The school also posted guidance materials on the electronic information portal, and at the same time guided parents to declare information on the enrollment portal for children from 3 to 5 years old. According to Mr. Minh, this helps parents easily grasp the process and proactively prepare documents.
Mr. Minh added that he checked his residence information on the VNeID application; if there is any deviation, he will supplement documents in time. According to him, the steps are clear, so there are no difficulties.
The application of technology as it is now makes the process convenient and time-saving, when parents can proactively check and compare information right at home and limit travel" - Mr. Minh expressed.
Meanwhile, Ms. Le Thu Huong (living in Viet Hung ward, Hanoi) - whose child is in 5th grade - said that she highly appreciates the coordination between local authorities and schools in reviewing student information.
In case students do not study at educational institutions in the area but reside in the locality, the Ward People's Committee coordinates with the police to review data, especially the current residence information on the parents' VNeID. I was instructed to check and update complete information, so the procedures took place quite conveniently" - Ms. Huong said.
According to Ms. Huong, this approach helps parents be more proactive in preparing documents.
When the information is checked carefully from the beginning, I am also more reassured when registering my child. If there are errors, they are promptly guided to adjust, without affecting the enrollment process" - she said.
