Hanoi awards 300 million VND to students who won Olympic prizes

Hanoi students who won gold medals in international Olympic competitions were awarded 300 million VND.

On the morning of December 10, continuing the program of the 20th session, delegates of the Hanoi People's Council voted to pass the Resolution on the level of support for teachers, students and trainees of Hanoi who have achieved high results in city-level, national and international competitions and exams.

The resolution stipulates the reward levels for 7 groups of students who won prizes in the exams, with the lowest reward being 10 million VND/student and the highest reward being 300 million VND/student.

Students who are ethnic minorities or disabled are entitled to a bonus equal to 1.5 times the prescribed bonus level.

In case a student is both an ethnic minority and a disabled person, the bonus is twice the prescribed bonus.

The resolution also stipulates that the bonus for teachers participating in training and fostering students is equal to 70% of the student bonus. The implementation cost is guaranteed by the city budget and is arranged in the annual education expenditure estimate assigned to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training according to the provisions of the State Budget Law.

The reward for students and trainees who win prizes in international Olympic competitions in subjects, international scientific and technical research competitions and equivalents sent by the Ministry of Education and Training to participate is: Gold medal is 300 million VND; Silver medal is 200 million VND; Bronze medal is 150 million VND.
