Many projects welcome the new school year
In the joyful atmosphere of the opening day of the 2026 - 2027 school year, Do Son Secondary School inaugurated and put into use a new project, with a total investment of 86.838 billion VND. The construction project of Do Son Secondary School is implemented in the period 2023 - 2026, with a total construction area of about 2,198.2 m2. The project is invested in a synchronous and modern direction, meeting the requirements of improving the quality of facilities serving teaching and learning.
The completion and commissioning of the project on time for the opening of the 2026 - 2027 school year is a joy for officials, teachers, parents and students of Do Son Secondary School; creating more spacious, modern, and safe learning space, better meeting the learning and training needs of students.
Previously, the People's Committee of Cat Hai Special Zone inaugurated Sao Mai Kindergarten right before the new school year. The school is built on an area of 3,192.22 m2, including a 3-story classroom building, a 3-story administrative - management building, along with a kitchen system, toilets, playgrounds, fairy gardens, parking garages, green trees and auxiliary works. Electricity, water supply and drainage, fire prevention and fighting, and internal roads and yards are synchronously invested. The project is invested with more than 57.253 billion VND, completed on schedule, ensuring quality, technique and aesthetics, ready to welcome children in the new school year.
It is known that in 2026, localities will implement 272 projects and items, focusing on building new and supplementing classroom buildings, classrooms, subject classrooms, multi-purpose buildings; renovating and repairing degraded classrooms, kitchens, toilets, schoolyards, fences, electrical systems, water supply and drainage, fire prevention and fighting, digital infrastructure and teaching equipment. The total investment and cost of projects and items implemented in 2026 is about 3,779.3 billion VND.

Spending on education accounts for 20.54% of total budget expenditure
In 2026, the budget resources for education and training continue to be given special priority by the city, regular expenditures for education, training and vocational training are 16,238,570 billion VND along with public investment expenditures estimated at about 2,400 billion VND. Total budget expenditures for education and training are estimated at 18,638.57 billion VND, accounting for 20.54% of total local budget expenditures.
Along with that, the city has assigned and transferred 71 redundant houses and land after arranging administrative units, agencies, and units, with a total land area of about 21.87 ha. At the same time, continue to review redundant houses and land after arrangement to prioritize use for education when it is suitable for planning, needs and actual conditions.
The city also directs educational institutions to strictly review the safety conditions of works, electricity, water, green trees, school gates, fire prevention and fighting, kitchens, boarding areas and equipment; resolutely not put into use classrooms, items, and equipment that do not ensure safety. For works that cannot be completed before students return to school, localities and educational institutions should proactively plan to arrange classrooms and organize alternative teaching, not to affect students' learning rights.
