At noon on June 2nd, more than 151,000 candidates in Ho Chi Minh City completed the Math exam in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2026-2027 school year.
Leaving the exam site of Nguyen Du Secondary School (Ben Thanh ward), many candidates commented that the Math exam was moderately difficult, the structure was familiar and there were not many tricky questions.


Le Ba Khanh Duy, a student at Nguyen Du Secondary School, said that the exam questions did not have many tricky questions. According to the male student, most of the knowledge is in the curriculum and the types of questions have been reviewed by the teacher before.
I think this year's exam is quite easy, easier than last year. The first questions I did quite smoothly, only the practical problem in question 6 was the most difficult part," Duy said.
The male student predicts to get about 8 points in Math and expects a total admission score of over 23 points.
Also commenting that the exam questions were easier than last year, Nguyen Ngoc Bao Anh said that the basic questions helped students easily get points.
However, the female student still encountered difficulties in question 7c and decided to drop some ideas to focus her time on more solid questions.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Huy Anh assessed that from question 1 to question 5 were quite easy.
According to the male student, question 6 is the part that makes him think the most even though the content of the math problem is not too complicated.
I think this year's exam is easier than last year's. The practical math problem is also lighter, only some ideas at the end make me hesitate," Huy Anh shared and predicted to get 7.5-8.5 points.
According to records at some other exam sites, many candidates also said that the exam questions closely followed the illustrative structure announced earlier, so they were not too surprised when doing the test.
For the majority of students, Math is also the last exam subject of the 10th grade public school entrance exam for the 2026-2027 school year.
This afternoon, candidates registering for specialized or integrated classes will continue to take the specialized or integrated exam according to their registered aspirations.
The 10th grade entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City in the 2026-2027 school year takes place in 2 days, June 1st and 2nd, with more than 151,000 candidates taking the exam. Public high schools in the city enroll about 118,500 students in 10th grade, equivalent to about 78% of candidates taking the exam have a chance of passing.
Candidates take exams in three subjects: Literature, Mathematics and English. Those who register for specialized or integrated classes will take additional specialized or integrated subjects accordingly.
This year, the exam is organized at 242 exam sites, including 226 regular exam sites and 16 specialized exam sites, with a total of 6,443 exam rooms. The city's education sector mobilized more than 17,700 teachers, staff and officials to participate in exam supervision and service.
