On December 26th, regarding the incident of many students vomiting after lunch, Ms. Phan Thi Huong Giang - Principal of Nguyen Trai Elementary School (Phu Xuan ward, Hue city) signed a report on the incident of students showing abnormal signs after boarding at school.
According to reports, at noon on December 26th, Nguyen Trai Elementary School organized semi-boarding for 541 students. The meal menu included white rice, braised mackerel, stir-fried water spinach and winter melon soup with shrimp.
During the time students had lunch (from 10:40 am to 11:15 am), 8 students showed symptoms of vomiting, including 4 in class 2/2 and 4 in class 2/3. The homeroom teachers of the two classes promptly grasped the situation, monitored students' health and reported to the medical staff and the School Board of Directors for handling.
The school has reported the incident to the Ward People's Committee and representatives of the Department of Health to coordinate in resolving it. There are 3 parents who wish to bring their children home for monitoring and care.
The remaining 5 students were monitored by school medical staff at school, their health was stable and they continued to study normally. The school also proactively contacted and inquired about the situation of the students being picked up by their parents; to date, their health is stable.
