On the afternoon of December 26, Ms. Phan Thi Huong Giang - Principal of Nguyen Trai Primary School (Phu Xuan Ward, Hue City) confirmed that some students of the school showed unusual signs of health after lunch.
According to Ms. Giang, students start having lunch at 10:20. At around 10:38 a.m., the school recorded about 15 - 16 second-grade students with symptoms of vomiting. Immediately afterwards, the Board of Directors implemented initial treatment measures, taking the children with symptoms to a separate room for monitoring, giving them water, mouthps and rest.
Up to now, 6 students have been welcomed home by their parents as desired, the rest continue to have lunch at school. The school has not recorded any cases of diarrhea; the symptoms of abdominal pain were determined to be due to the effects after the students tried to vomit.
Currently, the Food Safety Department (Hue City Department of Health) is coordinating with relevant units to collect samples to clarify the cause of the incident to see if there is a suspected food poisoning or not.
