Strong glass pink
For many people, going to school is a very simple thing, but for Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tam (Nam Dinh) it is an effortful journey for herself, her family, teachers and friends. That girl went to school with all her determination, on an uneven path.
Having congenital brittle bone disease, she has suffered from this disease since birth. Not only that, the older Tam got, the more other diseases such as heart, lungs, bronchi, and stomach affected her, making her health increasingly poor every day.
However, all those obstacles could not stop Ngoc Tam from coming to the light of knowledge. Not only did she strive to conquer the path of education, she also sowed beautiful seeds for life. Accepting and facing an unexpected health situation, overcoming all financial difficulties, Ngoc Tam successfully founded a free class for students called "Ngoc Tam Cam". Teaching during the day and sleeping at night in a sitting position, the Heart Warrior with a strong spirit always keeps his passion for learning, teaching and contributing.
"This class is not only a place for me to impart knowledge but also a way to realize my dream of becoming a teacher since I was a child" - she was moved.
Tam class is completely independent, from facilities to financial resources guaranteed by her and her family. In addition, the class has a variety of ages, from grades 1 to 8, so teaching also needs to be more proactive and flexible.
"For example, while teaching Math in grade 5, I switched to Literature for grade 6, then learned to read for grade 1 and grade 2. That requires me to arrange time effectively, ensuring that each student studies best" - Ngoc Tam smiled.
Despite the many difficulties, she always keeps in mind the need to "study, learn more, learn forever". Study to improve your knowledge and bring knowledge to your students.
"It doesn't matter how long we live, what matters is how deep we live. Every person is born a miracle, let's create new miracles together to contribute to society and the country" - Ngoc Tam smiled gently.
Self-study is the only way to build a family
Mr. Nguyen Tan Thanh (Can Tho) although over the age of 88, continues to pursue his path of study. With the desire to fulfill his unfinished dream, he chose to study for a Master's degree in Literature at Can Tho University.
From a young age, Mr. Thanh was inspired by his father. He soon formed a love for books and a desire for knowledge. Those years of childhood laid a solid foundation for his entire life - a life dedicated to "playing" with knowledge, "playing" with words.
Standing on the podium as a teacher for more than 50 years, Mr. Thanh hopes to convey knowledge and ignite the passion for learning for generations of students. With a rich foreign language experience such as English, French, German, Italian, Korean, Japanese, Spanish, Malaysian, etc., Mr. Thanh always supports students in seeking opportunities to learn and practice in the translation industry. And then his desire for knowledge was always burning, urging him to complete the unfinished high school program.
In 1972, after completing the first bachelor's degree in Literature program at Can Tho University, I was ready to study in high school.
However, when the paper was about to be completed, my visiting professor passed away, along with the event of our country's liberation. After that, I decided to temporarily suspend my studies to work in the information and propaganda department, to develop the country after the war. Until now, after everything is stable, I decided to continue my study path Mr. Thanh choked up.
This is his second year studying in the Master's degree program in Literature.Despite his old age, Mr. Thanh always tries and strives to study with all his heart. When asked about the difficulties in the learning process, he was always happy and excited, sharing: "I am an older person, but this is not an obstacle.
Being close to young people is a joy. There I learned their dynamism, enthusiasm, and creativity.People are not afraid of me being apart when I get old.Teachers and teachers enthusiastically helped me, took me home, discussed, and did group exercises....
Revealing his secret to learning, Mr. Thanh said - as long as you have passion, desire to learn, and improve, nothing is impossible.
He often reminds himself and everyone of Uncle Ho's profound teachings: "Learning good is difficult, it's like climbing a mountain, you have to work hard to reach the top. Learning the bad is easy, like being on the top of a mountain when I slip one of them and fall into a deep ravine". He especially emphasized the need to stay away from social evils, avoid letting bad things affect and disseminate to lifelong learning.
And then lifelong learning is not only a journey to improve knowledge, but also a way for us to enrich our souls, expand our limits and live a meaningful life.
