From early morning, thousands of parents and students flocked to the High School for the Gifted in Foreign Languages and the High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Candidates will take the exam at the Foreign Language Specialized School at 6:30 a.m., 1 hour earlier than the Natural Science Specialized School. Pham Thi Linh Anh - a student at Nguyen Van Huyen Secondary School (Hoai Duc, Hanoi) - woke up at 5am to get to the exam location.
Taking the English exam, having a good test score, Linh Anh was comfortable and calm before the test. However, the female student did not forget to express her concern about her passing.
In addition to the High School for the Gifted in Foreign Languages, he also took the entrance exam to the High School for the Gifted in Pedagogy. As for the 10th grade entrance exam of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, I only wish to enter a public high school near my home.
"I hope to do a good test today to avoid pressure and affect the results of the following exams" - Linh Anh said and predicted that she could achieve an average of 7 points per Foreign Language exam subject.
Meanwhile, Le Duc Thang - a student at Cau Giay Secondary School, Hanoi - set a more modest goal with a score above 6 in Math and Business. "As for Van, I think it is paralyzed" - she said.
According to the 7-year German language program, Thang took the entrance exam to the German specialized class of the Foreign Language High School for the Gifted. I expressed my excitement before the exam but also assessed that I had a chance to pass about 70%.
This year, nearly 3,400 candidates registered to take the exam to the Foreign Language High School, Hanoi National University, reduced about 600 students. The English class has the highest number of registration with 1,611 students but the decreasing rate from 1/7.1 (last year) to 1/1.5. The reason is that the school increased by 105 targets for this specialized class.
The number of candidates decreases but the target does not constant, so the rates of fighting in the school's specialized classes also decreased, fluctuating about 1/4 - 1/6. Particularly, Russian classes increased, at the highest level in the school - 1/7.
Students taking the entrance exam to the Foreign Language High School will take 4 subjects: Math, Literature, English and specialized subjects on June 1 alone.
Meanwhile, for the entrance exam to the High School for the Gifted in Natural Sciences, Hanoi National University, candidates will take the exam on June 1 and June 2.
This year, the school has a total of 3,000 students participating in the exam. The school still maintains the same enrollment quota as last year with 525 students, each class has 105 students. The average admission rate is about 1/6, of which the highest is the IT class with a score of 1/8.1.
Having a child taking the entrance exam for the Sinh major class, Ms. Doan Thi Xuyen (Bac Tu Liem, Hanoi) and her child prepare to take the exam from 5am. Before her child's important exam, she felt quite nervous but was also confident that her child would do well.
After majoring in Natural Sciences, her child will continue to take two more specialized schools, Hanoi National University of Education High School for the Gifted and Chu Van An High School for the Gifted.

"At the same time, I took many exams, so my child had a hard time and I also felt sorry for him. I can only encourage and motivate my child to try harder before the exams - Ms. Xuyen said and added that her child is always in a comfortable mood, so she is confident that she will pass the Sinh hoc class in this exam.
Both the School for Foreign Languages and the School for Natural Sciences belong to Hanoi National University, organizing enrollment across the country and independently with the 10th grade entrance exam organized by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training. Therefore, not only students in Hanoi, according to records, many candidates from provinces such as Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, Vinh Phuc... came to take the exam to these two schools.

Le Nho Duc Trung - a 9th grade student at Tu Son Secondary School (Bac Ninh) - started going to school for the exam at 5am. The male student wished to join the Chemistry class of the High School for the Gifted.
She said she was not too worried about the subjects, except for Math. "I stopped reviewing yesterday to prepare mentally. I find Math difficult and only expect to get above 4 points" - Duc Trung shared.
