HUE - Hue University canceled the graduate admission results for a leader of Kinh Bac University because of using invalid degrees and certificates.

On January 14, according to information from Hue University, the Director of Hue University has just signed a decision to cancel the decision to recognize the admission to the master's program in Economic Law of Ms. Dao Thi Bich Thuy - who was recognized as a graduate student in the 2021 course in Economic Law at the University of Law, Hue University according to Decision No. 589 dated May 17, 2021 of the Director of Hue University.

The reason for canceling the admission results is that Ms. Thuy used invalid diplomas and certificates, which were revoked by the training institution that issued the diplomas according to Decision No. 6267 dated November 15, 2024 of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, when participating in the first round of graduate admissions in 2021 at Hue University.

Regarding Ms. Dao Thi Bich Thuy's educational process, in 2000, she was recognized as a graduate and awarded a bachelor's degree in Literature. However, after checking and verifying, Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities determined that Ms. Thuy was not eligible to take the university entrance exam according to the provisions of Clause 3, Article 4 of the Regulations on admission to the regular training system of universities and colleges, issued under Decision No. 461 dated February 11, 1991 of the Minister of Education and Training.

As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on November 15, 2024, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities decided to cancel the graduation recognition and revoke the bachelor's degree of Ms. Dao Thi Bich Thuy, who works at Kinh Bac University. The school also issued 160 university graduation certificates for the second batch of 2024 to 160 students signed by Mr. Pham Ngoc Truc, which were reported to have been issued without proper authority.

According to the decision, in 2000, Ms. Dao Thi Bich Thuy (born in 1958) was recognized as graduating and awarded a bachelor's degree in Literature at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. However, after checking and verifying, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities determined that Ms. Dao Thi Bich Thuy was not qualified because she violated the conditions for taking the university entrance exam as prescribed in Clause 3, Article 4 of the Regulations on admission to the regular training system in universities, colleges and vocational secondary schools issued under Decision No. 461 dated February 11, 1991 of the Minister of Education and Training. Therefore, the school decided to cancel the recognition of graduation and revoke the bachelor's degree for Ms. Dao Thi Bich Thuy.

Previously, on October 29, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) sent a document to the investor, the School Council and the Principal of Kinh Bac University regarding the organization and operation of the school.

The Ministry of Education and Training affirmed that the dismissal of Mr. Doan Xuan Tiep (Chairman of the School Council), Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Hong (Vice Chairwoman of the School Council), the recognition of Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Hong as Chairwoman of the School Council, as well as the addition and replacement of members of the School Council from December 2023 to present, all did not comply with regulations.

The dismissal of Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa (Principal) and the assignment of Ms. Dao Thi Bich Thuy to be in charge of and manage all activities of Kinh Bac University also did not comply with the provisions of Article 16a of the 2012 Law on Higher Education, Decree No. 99/2019 of the Government and the Regulations on organization and operation of the school.
