Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, the leader of Kim Ngan Commune People's Committee (Quang Tri Province) said that after the Principal and Vice Principal of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities were dismissed from their positions, all parents of boarding students agreed to send their children back to school.
According to the People's Committee of Kim Ngan commune, on December 22, only 1 student was absent from school due to illness, the remaining 74 students studying as boarding students were fully present at school, teaching and learning activities took place normally.
Regarding the school's management, after the Principal and Vice Principal were dismissed from their positions, Mr. Tran Duy Binh - Vice Chairman of Kim Ngan Commune People's Committee was temporarily assigned to be in charge of and manage the activities of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities.
Regarding the boarding kitchen, according to the previous decision to handle administrative violations of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, the school's kitchen was suspended from operation for a period of 5 months. However, up to now, the locality has proposed that superiors consider and allow the maintenance of the kitchen at the school.
Kim Ngan Commune People's Committee said that Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities currently has 75 students who are children of Van Kieu ethnic group, staying at school from Monday to Friday every week. If the kitchen continues to be suspended, the school will face many difficulties in arranging meals and activities for students.
The early arrangement and maintenance of the kitchen is identified by the locality as a necessary solution to ensure learning, living and health conditions for boarding students in the coming time.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, on the morning of September 26, 40 students of the school were hospitalized after meals due to suspected food poisoning. During the inspection and verification of the incident, Ms. Do Thi Hong Hue was suspended from work twice to serve the investigation and clarify related responsibilities.
The People's Committee of Quang Tri province also fined the school a total of 196.5 million VND and suspended the school's kitchen operations for a period of 5 months.
The People's Committee of Kim Ngan commune has also issued a decision to discipline and remove Mr. Do Van My - Principal and Ms. Do Thi Hong Hue - Vice Principal of Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities.
