On June 5, the Ministry of Education and Training organized a Conference to announce the Decision to appoint heads and deputy heads of higher education institutions and vocational education institutions under the Ministry of Education and Training.
In the conference, the Ministry of Education and Training announced decisions to consolidate the Board of Directors of Nha Trang University.
Accordingly, the Minister of Education and Training signed a decision to appoint Dr. Quach Hoai Nam - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of Nha Trang University - to continue holding the position of Rector of Nha Trang University for a term of 5 years.
The appointment is carried out in the context that the school is implementing the consolidation of the organization, apparatus and leadership team in the spirit of Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW dated August 22, 2025 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development.
This is also a step to ensure the stability, inheritance and development of Nha Trang University in the new period, implementing the Party and Government's policy on investing in upgrading the school to become a reputable training and research center.
In this phase, the Minister of Education and Training issued a Decision appointing Dr. Khong Trung Thang - Secretary of the Party Committee, former Chairman of the University Council of Nha Trang - to hold the position of Vice Rector for a term of 5 years.
At the same time, Professor Pham Quoc Hung and Dr. Tran Doan Hung continue to perform the task of Deputy Principal until the end of the 5-year term of appointment.
After consolidating the management apparatus, Nha Trang University has 1 Rector and 3 Vice Rectors.
Dr. Quach Hoai Nam was born in 1974, a 34th grade student of Nha Trang University. He has worked at the school since 1999 and has been attached to the unit for nearly 30 years.
During his work, he held many positions such as lecturer, Deputy Head of University and Postgraduate Training Department, Head of Postgraduate Department, Vice Rector from May 2012 to December 2024, Vice Rector in charge of the school from January 2025 and held the position of Rector for the 2020-2025 term from August 14, 2025.
Dr. Quach Hoai Nam has made many contributions in the field of training, scientific research, domestic and international cooperation, and also participated in promoting university governance innovation.
The process of growing up from the Nha Trang University environment itself helped him have a deep understanding of the traditions, core values and development orientations of the school.
