On June 4, the Minister of Education and Training signed a decision assigning the position of Acting Director of Hue University to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quoc Huy - Rector of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University. The term of office is until the Minister of Education and Training has a decision on the personnel of the Director of Hue University.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quoc Huy (born 1969 in Hue), is a leading expert in the field of obstetrics and gynecology, with extensive experience in training, scientific research, international cooperation and university administration.
Currently, he is a Delegate of the 9th Hue City People's Council, term 2026 - 2031; Member of the Standing Committee of the Hue University Party Committee; Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University.
Over 30 years of work, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quoc Huy has held many important management positions in the fields of education and health.
With outstanding contributions, he was awarded many noble awards such as the Ho Chi Minh Prize in 2021, the title of Distinguished Teacher in 2017, the Second-class Labor Medal in 2025 and the title of National Emulation Soldier in 2023.
In 2024, he was awarded the National Medal of Merit and the title of Knight by the President of the French Republic to recognize his contributions to promoting health and education cooperation between Vietnam and France.
In his position as Rector of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quoc Huy has made many contributions to innovation in university governance, improving the quality of training, scientific research and people's health care.
