On the morning of July 1st, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) announced the exam scores and score distribution of subjects in the 2026 high school graduation exam.
According to the Ministry of Education and Training, Mathematics and History are the two subjects with the most perfect scores in the 2026 high school graduation exam.

Mathematics alone recorded 4,208 perfect scores, the highest among all subjects. History ranked second with 2,465 perfect scores.
While Economics and Law Education only had 2 perfect scores, Literature did not record perfect scores.
Assessing this year's exam score distribution, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Son - Rector of Hanoi National University of Education said that the score distribution of this year's subjects is relatively good, distributed evenly, especially with good differentiation. This will be beneficial for universities and colleges to use these results for admissions.
Besides, he said that the score distribution also reflects the teaching and learning activities of high schools after 2 years with a new orientation - orientation towards developing learners' qualities and abilities. This is clearly shown in the exam questions and the way of doing things, which proves that there has been a good shift.
“Regarding Literature, this year's score distribution is quite beautiful and different from the imagination of many people before seeing the score distribution. This score distribution reflects that teaching and learning work at high schools is ready for testing and assessment requirements.

In the process of teacher training, we have done a job of training teachers in the ability to test and evaluate according to new theories, such as Rubric.
When implementing the ETEP program (a program to develop pedagogical schools to improve the capacity of teachers and administrators of general education institutions), teachers are trained in tools and methods of testing and assessment in a competency-based approach.
Thus, teachers have become familiar with that job. I think that after 2 years, teachers have gradually become familiar with the way of testing and evaluating like that, and students are also taught in the same way. This proves that education has met the goals set out by the program" - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Son assessed.
Also according to the leaders of Hanoi National University of Education, this year the number of students registering for selected exam subjects such as Informatics, Agricultural Technology, Industrial Technology, Economics and Law increased compared to last year.
He said that this is an interesting point. This shows that when choosing these subjects, students do not have the pressure of university admissions - that is, they do not choose because of external pressure, but choose because they find those subjects close, interesting, and meaningful to themselves.
I think this is a good sign, which needs to be concerned about in the coming time" - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Son added.

Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Duc Son also assessed that English is a subject that is heavily invested in, however, the results show that the rate below the average is still quite high.
Through this year's score distribution, we will have to focus more on innovating the teaching and learning methods of English.
English will not only be a foreign language but must be taught similarly as a tool, a method for students to use communication and cultivate knowledge. And to achieve this requires great determination" - Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Duc Son emphasized.
