In 2025, Ho Chi Minh City has not merged with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau, with more than 76,000 candidates participating in the 10th grade exam.
According to statistics, Mathematics has a clear improvement compared to previous years (2024). Scores are mainly concentrated in the range from 6.5 to 7.5 points.
The score level with the largest number of candidates is 7 points with 4,580 students. Next is the level of 6.75 points with 4,345 candidates achieving it.
Notably, although only 36 candidates achieved perfect scores of 10, lower than the level of 49 candidates in 2024, the number of exam papers achieving from 8 to 9.75 points is quite large. For the level of 8 points alone, there are 2,886 candidates, the level of 8.25 points has 1,609 candidates and the level of 9 points has 336 candidates.
Another notable point is that the number of candidates scoring below average has decreased sharply. Only 28,028 candidates scored below 4.75 points, accounting for about 36% of the total number of exam papers, while this rate in 2024 is up to 56%.
In Literature, the score distribution is mainly concentrated in the range of 6 to 7 points.
The highest score is 7 points with 5,936 candidates. Next is the level of 6.5 points with 5,718 candidates and the level of 6 points with 5,491 candidates.
In 2025, no exam papers achieved 10 points in Literature. The highest score is 9.5 with 2 candidates achieving it.
In English, the number of perfect scores decreased more than three times compared to the previous year (2024). Accordingly, in 2025 there are 488 candidates achieving perfect scores, while in 2024 this number reached 1,707 students.
The score distribution for English is most concentrated at 7.25 points with 3,143 candidates. The next score levels include 7.5 points with 3,050 candidates and 8 points with 3,022 candidates.
The 10th grade entrance exam for the 2026-2027 school year in Ho Chi Minh City took place in two days, June 1st and 2nd, with about 151,000 candidates participating. This is the first year the exam is organized in Ho Chi Minh City after implementing administrative unit arrangement, merging with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
According to records from many candidates and teachers, this year's Literature, Math and English exam questions are assessed as moderate, lighter than in recent years, and still ensure the necessary differentiation to serve the enrollment work.
In the 2026-2027 school year, public high schools in Ho Chi Minh City will enroll about 118,500 students. With about 151,000 candidates taking the exam, the admission rate to public schools reached about 78%.
According to the plan of the Department of Education and Training (GDĐT), today (June 15), the grade 10 exam grading council will combine scores and print data to serve the work of matching exam papers and checking. Exam scores will be announced no later than 5 pm on June 19.
