In the early days of August 2026, on the construction site of Son Vi Inter-level Ethnic Minority Boarding Primary and Secondary School (Tuyen Quang province), the sound of machines still resounded day and night.
When night fell, the entire construction site lit up with lights amidst overlapping border rocky mountains. Nearly 300 officials, engineers, and workers took turns working 3 consecutive shifts, ensuring the project was put into use before the new school year.
Currently, the project is entering the completion phase, the 3-story building blocks are plastered by workers. Right at the foot of the building blocks, excavators are rushing to level the ground and construct auxiliary items.
Mr. Hoang Van Hieu, a construction worker at the construction site, said that the biggest difficulty is erratic weather in the highlands. When it rains, construction of many items is almost stopped.
As soon as the weather calmed down, ensuring sufficient conditions for construction, we workers all took advantage of working overtime in the evening to compensate for the progress. Everyone hopes the project will be completed soon so that students have a new school," Mr. Hieu shared.

The Son Vi Inter-level Ethnic Minority Boarding Primary and Secondary School project is an urgent public investment project, built on an area of more than 3.6ha, with a total floor area of more than 22,000m2, including 10 3-story buildings, 3 single-story buildings and a synchronous technical infrastructure system. Total investment of 211 billion VND.
When completed, this project will meet the needs of studying, living, and living for ethnic minority students in the border area of Son Vi commune and surrounding areas.
According to the contractor's report (Joint venture of Deo Ca Group Joint Stock Company and Construction Joint Stock Company 216 No. 2), currently, 12/13 main items are being simultaneously deployed at the construction site, with a realized value of more than 61 billion VND, equivalent to about 37% of the contract value.
Key items such as classroom blocks, administration buildings, dormitories, dining rooms, multi-purpose buildings and technical infrastructure systems will be completed before August 30 to be ready to welcome students into the new school year.
Mr. Tran Van Cong - Deputy Director of the Project Steering Committee said that to ensure project progress, the Steering Committee closely coordinates with contractors to mobilize maximum manpower, machinery, and organize many construction teams.
The construction site always maintains nearly 300 officials, engineers, and workers working overnight when the weather is favorable. Along with speeding up progress, the Management Board always strictly controls the quality of the project and labor safety," Mr. Cong informed.

To create favorable conditions for the project to be implemented on schedule, the Son Vi commune government has closely coordinated with relevant units to clear ground, ensure security and order, and support landslide recovery.
Mr. Sung Mi No - Chairman of Son Vi Commune People's Committee said that this is a project of special significance to the locality, a long-awaited aspiration of the people for many years.
When completed, the school will create conditions for students in border areas to study and live better, contributing to improving the quality of education and showing the concern of the Party and State for ethnic minorities in border areas," said the Chairman of Son Vi Commune People's Committee.
Previously, Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee issued a Plan to implement the "60 days and nights of peak campaign" to build border boarding schools, determined to complete, accept and put into use 6 schools starting phase 1 of 2025 before August 30, 2026, ensuring full conditions to organize the opening ceremony of the 2026 - 2027 school year.
