In mid-June, at the construction sites of the boarding high school in the border region of Lao Cai, the construction atmosphere was bustling and urgent.
From the construction area of classrooms and administration buildings to the dormitory area, each item is being accelerated by contractors to be completed on schedule.
New schools are not just simple construction projects but are also expected to create a shift in improving the quality of education in border areas.

According to the Lao Cai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, implementing the policy of the Politburo on investing in building schools for border communes and the Prime Minister's direction on accelerating the construction progress of inter-level primary and secondary schools in the land border area, Lao Cai province is focusing resources on implementing projects.
Along with that, the province launched the "100 Days and Nights Campaign" to complete the construction of 4 boarding schools in border communes including Y Ty, Pha Long, A Mu Sung and Muong Khuong.
The campaign is implemented from May to the end of August 30, 2026, with the goal of ensuring that schools meet the conditions to organize teaching and learning right from the 2026 - 2027 school year.

Investors and contractors are required to implement the "6 clear" motto, including clear tasks, clear responsibilities, clear progress, clear implementers, clear coordination mechanisms and clear output results.
At the same time, mobilizing maximum manpower and equipment, organizing "3 shifts, 4 teams" construction, ensuring progress but still putting quality, labor safety and environmental protection first.
At the Muong Khuong Primary and Secondary Boarding School project, the project has a total investment of 215 billion VND, newly built to meet the learning and living needs of 28 classes with about 980 students.
According to the investor's report, nearly 300 workers and many machines and equipment are currently maintained at the construction site. Contractors are deploying many construction fronts from leveling ground, building classroom blocks, administration buildings, dormitories to technical infrastructure systems.

Items at the Muong Khuong project are being focused on completion, in which the ground leveling part reaches about 80% of the embankment volume; school building blocks, elementary schools and subject classrooms are being plastered, electrical and plumbing are being completed, and roof trusses are being processed.
The secondary school block is constructing formwork, steel reinforcement and pouring concrete for the 3rd floor.
At the Inter-level Boarding Primary and Secondary School project in Y Ty commune, the construction volume reached over 22% of the contract value. School buildings, classrooms, and dormitories are being accelerated with more than 200 workers working continuously.

The project in A Mu Sung reached more than 45% of the volume, basically closely following the plan. Many items have completed the rough construction and moved to the completion phase.
Meanwhile, the project at Pha Long also reached over 30% of the contract value. The investor requested the contractor to increase manpower, organize continuous construction, and work through holidays to compensate for progress.
Investing in boarding general schools in border communes is expected by people to help children in mountainous areas have more learning opportunities in better conditions, reducing the educational gap between favorable and difficult areas.
These are also projects of long-term significance in human resource development, contributing to promoting socio-economic development, maintaining national defense and security in the Lao Cai border area.
