At the beginning of May 2026, amidst intense hot weather, the construction site of the Thanh Thuy Inter-level Ethnic Minority Boarding School Project, Thanh Thuy commune, is still bustling with the sound of construction machinery.
Nearly 300 workers were divided into many teams, urgently completing construction items. After more than 6 months of construction, the excavation and foundation filling items and 12 main building blocks such as classrooms, administration buildings, and basic accommodation areas have been completed.
Currently, the contractor is focusing on completing the interior and exterior of the project; and at the same time deploying electricity, water and auxiliary works. The implemented volume has reached over 70%.
Representatives of the contractor - Mien Tay Co., Ltd. - said that the unit has mobilized maximum manpower and vehicles, organized "3 shifts, 4 teams" construction, striving to make the project the first inter-level boarding school in the province to be completed and put into use before August 30, 2026.

Thanh Thuy Inter-level Boarding School project has a total investment of more than 211 billion VND on an area of 5.37ha. The project includes 31 classrooms, 15 subject rooms, 1 library, 25 office rooms, 198 boarding rooms for students and teachers and many auxiliary items, meeting the learning and living needs of more than 1,000 students.
To date, 17/17 inter-level boarding schools in border communes of Tuyen Quang province have been started. Among them, 6 projects started in 2025 are being focused on accelerating progress.
According to the Project Management Board for Construction Investment of Tuyen Quang province, among the schools starting construction in 2025, 2/6 projects are ahead of schedule and are expected to be completed and handed over earlier than planned.
For projects started in 2026, currently 1 project has been implemented; 10/11 remaining projects are in the process of appraisal and approval. Accumulated disbursement by the end of June 2026 is expected to reach 688 billion VND.
According to the investor, the project implementation process faced many difficulties due to complex terrain and geological conditions in many areas. Some projects had to adjust designs due to the risk of landslides. In addition, fluctuating prices of construction materials, fuel and transportation costs also affected the construction progress.
Typically, the Xin Man Boarding School Project, Xin Man commune - one of the projects facing many geological obstacles. During construction, the unit discovered a groundwater vein in the construction area, increasing the risk of foundation subsidence and taluy landslides behind the project.

Talking to PV, Mr. Ta Quoc Tuan - Director of Dong Bac One Member Limited Liability Company, the construction unit of Xin Man Boarding School - said that due to complex geological conditions, the project must adjust the design and supplement technical solutions to ensure project safety.
Despite facing many difficulties in terrain and geology, we are determined to accelerate progress. At favorable locations, the unit has increased manpower and machinery to continuously construct," Mr. Tuan said.
At a working session with the Construction Investment Project Management Board and localities with projects, Ms. Vuong Ngoc Ha - Vice Chairwoman of Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee - requested contractors to review and clearly identify outstanding contents, promptly remove difficulties, and not affect the overall progress.
Local leaders are also requested to focus on reviewing all tasks in the area, especially procedures related to land and site clearance; and at the same time closely coordinate to create the most favorable conditions for investors and contractors in the project implementation process.
