On September 13, speaking with reporters, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan - Principal of Trung Phuc Cuong 2 Primary School, Thien Nhan Commune (Nghe An) - said that the school had complied with the direction of the Department of Education and Training, temporarily suspending the plan to merge branch 2 into branch 1.
Currently, students of branch 2 of the school (old Nam Phuc commune) are still studying at this school as before and the score is 100% guaranteed.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, the reason for the merger comes from the process of merging administrative boundaries, causing the school to have 2 locations only about 1km apart. Maintaining 2 schools is unreasonable, while the facilities at the main school ( Branch 1) have been fully invested, spacious, modern, spacious, with a clean and green environment.
"For many years, the Board of Directors and the pedagogical council have had a policy of merging branch 2 into branch 1 to help students have better learning conditions. The commune leaders also really hope for this, have directed the school to develop a merger plan, the Party Committee and People's Committee of the commune agree, and parents' representatives of all classes also agree. However, when implementing it, I encountered opposition from some parents" - Principal of Trung Phuc Cuong 2 Primary School shared.
According to the principal, the school is currently maintaining 2 locations to ensure stability. However, this makes it difficult to arrange teachers, because school 2 does not have a classroom for IT and English, while the school is lacking many teachers.
"In the near future, the school will organize a boarding kitchen, and at the same time continue to propagate and mobilize parents to agree with the merger policy, in order to create the best conditions for students to study and develop comprehensively" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan added.
Mr. Nguyen Van Chinh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Thien Nhan Commune - admitted that the reason why parents object is because they are worried that students when going to the main school have to cross the intersection with many heavy trucks regularly traveling.
"However, this problem can be completely overcome if people travel carefully, comply with the law and combine some other technical solutions such as speed limiters and speed limiters" - Mr. Nguyen Van Chinh affirmed.
The Chairman of the Commune People's Committee also said that in the coming time, he will coordinate with the school to explain and mobilize people to agree with the merger policy. Along with that, the commune will implement solutions to ensure traffic safety, and at the same time organize boarding for students to facilitate parents in picking up and dropping off their children to school.
According to the Nghe An Department of Education and Training, in 5 years (2020-2025), the whole province has reduced 200 separate schools (mainly at the primary level). Reducing the number of private schools has contributed to improving the quality of education, creating conditions for students to develop comprehensively.
