The holiday is expected to last from December 25 (Thursday, February 12, 2026) to January 6 (Sunday, February 22, 2026).
The total number of days off is expected to be 11 days. The last day of school is December 24 (Wednesday, February 11, 2026). The school day will be January 7 (Monday, February 23, 2026).
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said that this Tet holiday schedule is calculated based on the school year time frame and the progress of the general education program in the area.
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training has also announced the Tet holiday schedule for students in 2026.
Accordingly, cadres, civil servants and workers under the Hanoi Department of Education and Training; kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, high schools, vocational education centers - continuing education, secondary schools and Hanoi Education and Training School for Education Cadres will have 5 days off according to regulations. Specific holiday time is from February 16 (Monday) to February 20, 2026 (Friday).
If including Saturdays, Sundays before and after holidays, the Lunar New Year holiday schedule for Hanoi students can last 9 days
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training also noted that, based on actual conditions, units should pay attention to taking care of the material and spiritual lives of cadres, teachers, staff and students; carefully organize visits and assistance for policy families and those in difficult circumstances, contributing to everyone having the conditions to enjoy spring and celebrate Tet in a healthy and safe way.
