Tay Ninh province gives students a 12-day Lunar New Year holiday, from February 11-2 (December 24th of the lunar calendar to January 6th of the lunar calendar).
Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho and Ha Tinh all gave students 11 days off, but different times.
In Ha Tinh, students have Tet holiday from February 13-22 (December 26th of the lunar calendar to January 7th of the lunar calendar).
As for the 2 southern provinces of Can Tho and Ho Chi Minh City, students take a day off earlier, from February 12-22.2 (December 25th to January 6th).
Hanoi is currently the locality with the fewest Tet holidays for students. Students, teachers and officials, civil servants, and employees of educational units will have 5-day Tet holidays.
The holiday period includes 1 day before Tet and 4 days after Tet, from Monday, February 16, 2026 (December 29th of the lunar calendar) to the end of Friday, February 20, 2026 (the 4th day of the first lunar month).
Including the 4 weekends before and after Tet, the Lunar New Year holiday for students in the capital will last 9 days.
Previously, the Government finalized the Lunar New Year 2026 holiday schedule, starting from February 14 to the end of February 22, i.e., December 27 of the year At Ty to the end of January 6 of the year Binh Ngo, totaling 9 days.
