According to the plan of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training (GDĐT), this year's supplementary enrollment has 3,488 targets at 79 public high schools.
The registration condition is that students have participated in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2026-2027 school year, and have not been admitted to any aspirations or types of public high schools. At the same time, the total score of three exam subjects (Math, Literature, Foreign Language), plus priority points and bonus points (if any), must be equal to or higher than the aspiration 1 benchmark score of the school they want to register for.
Each student is only allowed to register for additional admissions to one public high school that is still short of quotas and is not allowed to change aspirations after submitting the application.
According to the regulations of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, schools will consider admissions from high scores to low scores until they meet the assigned quota. In case there are many students with the same score at the final admission score, causing the number of admitted students to exceed the quota, the school's admissions council will adjust to ensure that the total number of admitted students does not exceed the supplementary admission quota. Thus, being eligible to submit applications does not mean certain admission.
A survey by Lao Dong Newspaper shows that before the deadline for receiving applications, some schools such as Nguyen Van Linh High School, Le Thi Hong Gam High School, Dien Hong High School... have received the number of applications exceeding the supplementary enrollment quota. This means that there will be students who will not be admitted if the admission score is not in the group to be admitted to the full quota.
This is also noted by some high schools, suggesting that parents should consider choosing supplementary schools suitable for students' scores to increase the chances of admission, instead of just focusing on schools with a large number of applications.
Meanwhile, some other schools such as Tay Thanh High School, Gia Dinh High School, Hung Vuong High School, Nguyen Huu Tho High School... currently record low number of registered applications due to relatively high application admission scores.
According to the plan, after the application submission period ends today, from July 30th to no later than 5:00 PM on July 31st, high schools will review data, conduct admissions and compile admission lists on the software system provided by the Department of Education and Training.
From August 3rd to no later than 4 pm on August 7th, schools will announce the list of additional admitted candidates and organize the reception of enrolled students.

According to statistics, among 79 high schools recruiting additional targets, 10 schools recorded recruiting from 100 targets or more, including: Phong Phu High School (214 targets), Nguyen Van Tang High School (199), Trung Lap High School (157), Vo Minh Duc High School (148), An Nhon Tay High School (145), Trinh Hoai Duc High School (129), An My High School (125), Bung Rieng High School (108), Nguyen Van Linh High School (100) and Da Phuoc High School (100).
In the opposite direction, many schools only recruit additionally with very small numbers, such as Vo Thi Sau High School (Dat Do) 2 quotas, Minh Dam High School 3 quotas, Hoa Hoi High School and Ngo Quyen High School (Nghia Thanh commune) with 7 quotas each, Thanh Tuyen High School 8 quotas, Le Thi Hong Gam High School and Nguyen Hue High School (Rach Dua ward) with 10 quotas each.
