The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training (GDĐT) has just announced a plan to supplement enrollment into 10th grade in the 2026-2027 school year with a total of 3,488 targets at 79 public high schools that are still short of students after the official enrollment period.
According to the guidance, supplementary enrollment is divided into 3 groups.
For the Japanese language program (foreign language 1), the target audience is students who fully meet the conditions according to the specific instructions of the Department of Education and Training. Secondary schools that teach Japanese will review and compile a list of eligible students to send to the Department.
Based on the scores of the Japanese language exam, the Department of Education and Training will consider admission from high to low until the remaining quota for the Japanese language class at Marie Curie High School is met.
For the integrated English program (Project 5695), students who have participated in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2026-2027 school year and have been admitted to a high school that teaches this program can register to transfer to integrated English classes right at the school where they are admitted.
Schools will organize English proficiency surveys and consider results from high to low until the remaining quota is met.
Notably, for supplementary enrollment according to 3 regular nguyện vọng, students must have participated in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2026-2027 school year but have not been admitted to any nguyện vọng or type of public high school.
At the same time, the total score of 3 subjects Math, Literature, Foreign Language plus priority and encouragement points (if any) must be greater than or equal to the benchmark score of the school wishing to register for additional admissions.
Each student is only allowed to register for additional admissions to one public high school that is still short of quotas and is not allowed to change aspirations after submitting the application.
The registration dossier includes a grade 10 entrance exam score report with the seal of the secondary school where the student registered for the exam and is submitted directly to the high school with additional enrollment needs.
The Department of Education and Training requires schools to use the Department's exam management software for admission consideration. If the number of eligible students exceeds the quota because many students have the same score at the final admission level, the school's supplementary admission council must adjust to ensure that the number of admitted students does not exceed the assigned quota. Cases beyond authority will be reported to the Department of Education and Training for consideration and decision.
According to the plan, schools will receive registration dossiers from July 22 to 5:00 PM on July 29; review data and consider admissions from July 30 to the end of July 31; report results to the Department of Education and Training on August 1. The list of additional admitted students will be announced from August 3 to no later than 4:00 PM on August 7, and schools will organize the reception of admitted students. On August 8, schools will complete the sending of the admitted list to the Department of Education and Training.
According to the list attached to the official dispatch, there are 79 public high schools in Ho Chi Minh City allowed to conduct additional enrollment.
The list of schools recruiting additional students is as follows:
