The Department of Education and Training (DET) of Ho Chi Minh City has just announced the results of a surprise inspection of Than Dong 8 Foreign Language Center at 1232, Quang Trung Street, Ward 8, Go Vap District.
According to this notice, Than Dong 8 Foreign Language Center was granted a license to establish by the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City (at location at 1232, Quang Trung Street, Ward 8, Go Vap District), but has not been licensed for educational activities and the center director's decision has not been issued.
However, at the time of inspection, the classrooms in the center were equipped with tables, chairs, books, and boards with classroom regulations. The facility shows signs of operation.
The center is advertising English programs Super Stars; Cambridge competition; 100% English summer boarding; Q+ Summer Joy.
At the same time, 4 English classes for children are being organized; there is a tuition fee collection table from May 1 to 31, 2025.
In addition, the center's information board includes advertisements for content that does not meet the functions and tasks of the foreign language center; 100% English summer boarding, Q+ Summer Joy.
From the above results, the inspection team recorded signs of administrative violations in the field of education as prescribed in Point b, Clause 5, Article 6 of Decree No. 04/2021/ND-CP dated January 22, 2021 of the Government: organizing educational activities or performing educational services when not yet permitted.
From the above violations, the Director of the Department of Education and Training requested the Than Dong 8 Foreign Language Center to immediately stop organizing educational activities at 1,232 Quang Trung Street, Ward 8, Go Vap District and return the fees collected to learners according to regulations.
