As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at around 9:34 p.m. on May 26, at the subsidence point on National Highway 3B through Hiep Luc village, Kim Lu commune (Na Ri, Bac Kan), a motorbike driver suspected of having jumped over the fence and falling into a deep hole.
As soon as the news was received, the authorities promptly deployed rescue plans, pumped water, and searched for victims in the hole.

After 2 weeks of searching, on June 12, the People's Committee of Bac Kan province announced that it had agreed to stop the search.
The decision was made after specialized units reported on the field and comprehensively assessed the situation in the area where the incident occurred.
According to the People's Committee of Na Ri district, the terrain conditions where the subsidence occurred were very complicated. The groundwater continuously rose again, the sinkhole fell deep and showed signs of expanding.
Although the forces have been on duty day and night, using many modern support equipment, approaching the bottom of the hole still faces major obstacles, not achieving the expected results.

In addition, the risk of unsafety for search forces is increasing as subsidence continues.
At the meeting to assess the situation, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Kan province Nong Quang Nhat agreed with the proposal to stop rescue activities.
At the same time, local authorities are required to continue monitoring the area, while strengthening warning measures to prevent people from accessing dangerous areas.

The Provincial People's Committee also requested the recovery of equipment and rescue vehicles, and at the same time coordinated with traffic management units to ensure safety and temporary traffic flow on National Highway 3B.
Regarding the next orientation, the province assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with Na Ri district to handle the subsidence point at Km80+050 on National Highway 3B. This is a landslide that greatly affects traffic and poses many potential safety risks.
In addition, specialized agencies will coordinate with consulting units and geological experts to continue surveying the scene.
The goal is to determine the cause of the subsidence, propose feasible solutions, thereby ensuring long-term stability for people in the affected area.
