Male student's inappropriate behavior towards veteran reprimanded

HCMC - Van Lang University has introduced disciplinary measures for students who have behaved inappropriately towards veterans.

On the morning of May 9, Van Lang University issued a notice on disciplinary action against a male student who behaved inappropriately towards a veteran on the evening of April 29, 2025 while waiting to watch a parade and parade event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

The school said that after the incident, students and their families were invited to the school to work directly.

Through the student's report, comprehensively evaluating the students' learning process at the school and consulting the educational management agencies, based on the current regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, the school decides to handle in the form of reprimand and education to create conditions for students to have the opportunity to correct and grow up.

The male student is also required to seriously learn from experience and commit not to repeat inappropriate behavior.

Van Lang University requested the Student Support Center, the Faculty of Foreign Languages and related units to continue to monitor and educate students and call on families to join hands to educate learners.

Previously, on April 30, a clip was made with the content of accusing a group of young people of being unruly, loudly fighting for positions with veterans to watch a parade and march in the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

Many people have commented and been upset, saying that the group of young people has behaved inappropriately towards adults, which is condemnable. Among them, there was a young man believed to be a student studying at Van Lang University.

On May 1, Van Lang University confirmed that he was a student of the school. Two days later, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology also said that a student in the above group was a student of the school and was considering a form of handling.
