Reduce dossiers, increase time for expertise
Identifying digital transformation as a solution to improve the quality of education, educational institutions in Hung Yen province are proactively applying technology in management and teaching, meeting the requirements of education innovation in the current period.
At the conference "Digital breakthrough in education and training; deploying the STEM education model" recently, management officials of educational institutions at all levels and representatives of leaders of communes and wards throughout the province exchanged views on solutions to promote digital transformation in education.
Ms. Tran Thi Minh Yen - Principal of Vu Thu Primary School (Vu Thu commune) said that in order for digital transformation to truly improve the quality of teaching and learning, first of all, it is necessary to promote digital records, reduce administrative procedures and books so that teachers and management staff have more time for expertise.
Regarding STEM education at the primary level, Ms. Yen believes that the implementation needs to be appropriate to age characteristics, prioritizing experiential activities, exploring and solving problems, avoiding running after formality or placing too high requirements on products.
The school also proposed that the education sector continue to invest in technology infrastructure, strengthen the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in teaching and learning, and build a shared digital learning resource for schools to share STEM lectures and AI application learning resources, thereby saving time and improving teaching quality.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Huy - Deputy Head of the Department of General Education, Department of Education and Training of Hung Yen province said that the sector is implementing new regulations in the direction of sharply reducing records and books for teachers.
According to current regulations, teachers directly teaching only use the necessary types of records. At the same time, the Ministry of Education and Training advocates cutting about 50% of unnecessary contests and competitions so that teachers can focus on professional work.
Building a shared digital learning warehouse
According to the Department of Education and Training of Hung Yen province, regarding building digital learning materials, from 2025, Hung Yen has organized AI application training for teachers at all levels of education. To date, the entire industry has built 1,239 AI application lectures.
On that basis, the Department of Education and Training continues to implement the plan to build a digital learning resource warehouse from grades 1 to 12 according to the "Connecting Knowledge with Life" textbook set, aiming to form a common digital learning resource to serve the entire industry.
The Department of Education and Training has also completed the connection of the data axis (API) and the industry's smart management operating system with the data axis of Hung Yen province, and at the same time continues to connect and synchronize data with the Ministry of Education and Training.
According to leaders of the education sector, the foundation of digital transformation is data. To achieve effective digital transformation, data must be accurate, sufficient and updated regularly. To date, data from educational institutions in 104 communes and wards in the province has been updated to the system, creating a foundation for centralized management and administration.
Digital transformation achievements are also directly shown at schools through the deployment of digital signatures, identification codes, electronic records and books, digital libraries, paperless meeting systems and many other smart management platforms.
