On July 6, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa - Director of Nghe An Department of Education and Training signed document No. 2276 sent to Nghe An Provincial People's Committee regarding the proposal to supplement the enrollment quota for 10th grade in the 2026-2027 school year.
According to the Nghe An Department of Education and Training, after basing on the actual situation of 9th grade students registering for 10th grade enrollment in the whole province, proposals from schools, localities and parents, the Department reports and submits to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and approval of supplementing enrollment targets.
The proposal to supplement quotas stems from a number of reasons such as: increasing quotas for students with equal benchmark scores; increasing quotas for high schools with too high benchmark scores; supplementing quotas for schools in areas where students can hardly go to other high schools due to too far distance if they are not admitted.
Specifically, for the high school block, the number of classes and students proposed for adjustment is 2,691 classes with 126,822 students. This number does not include Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Vinh University High School for the Gifted, ethnic minority boarding schools and the School for the Gifted in Physical Education and Sports.
Compared to the previous decision of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, the high school block is proposed to increase by 13 classes and 2,515 students. The mobilization rate of 9th grade students into 10th grade high schools is expected to reach 81.9%, an increase of 2.7%.
In which, the public system has 2,366 classes with 111,884 students, an increase of 7 classes and 2,205 students. There are 11 high schools proposing to increase the number of students to 50 students/class; 28 high schools proposing to increase the number of students to 48 students/class.
For the non-public system, the Nghe An Department of Education and Training proposed 325 classes with 14,938 students, an increase of 6 classes and 310 students.
For Vocational Education - Continuing Education Centers, the number of classes and students proposed for adjustment is 326 classes with 14,065 students, including students at vocational schools who need to study the continuing education program at the high school level.
Compared to the approved target, this group increased by 20 classes and 910 students. Of which, public schools have 290 classes with 12,582 students, an increase of 15 classes and 685 students; non-public schools have 36 classes with 1,483 students, an increase of 5 classes and 225 students.
According to the Nghe An Department of Education and Training, if approved by the Provincial People's Committee, the rate of 9th grade students admitted to 10th grade in the 2026-2027 school year at high schools and Vocational Education - Continuing Education Centers will reach 93.5%.
