Nghe An - After arrangement, the whole province is expected to reduce about 47% of public educational institutions, and about 1,100 management officials will return to teaching.

On August 8, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province said that the Education sector is implementing the request for opinions from competent authorities on the plan to arrange the school network in the province.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, the arrangement is carried out according to specific procedures, criteria and guidelines, with the participation of localities.

After issuing the criteria and guidelines, the Department of Education and Training organized an online meeting with 130 communes and wards; directly worked with localities that still have different opinions and continued dialogue to complete plans suitable to actual conditions.

To date, Nghe An is expected to reduce about 47% of public educational institutions. After arrangement, it is expected that about 1,100 management officials at educational institutions will return to teaching work. The arrangement and use of this team is one of the issues that the Nghe An Education sector is continuing to consider.

According to the Director of Nghe An Department of Education and Training, there are still about 6 localities and schools that have not agreed with the merger plan due to concerns about actual conditions, school size and student travel distance.

Some localities have also not agreed with the plan to organize inter-level secondary and high school schools.

In addition, naming schools after mergers is being concerned by many localities, especially for schools with a long tradition.

For the continuing education and vocational education systems, the Nghe An Department of Education and Training also developed a plan to streamline focal points.

According to the plan, the number of continuing education centers is expected to decrease by about 52.38%, the number of public secondary schools will decrease by about 44.45%; and at the same time, a model of vocational high schools will gradually be formed to meet the requirements of human resource training.
