Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine has removed A.N.H's name from the list of doctoral research students in 2025. Previously, A.N.H had applied to drop out of school according to her personal wishes.
A.N.H (born in 2001) is a candidate who was admitted to the doctoral program in 2025 - becoming the youngest candidate in the admission list of Pham Ngoc Thach Medical University.
After that, A.N.H's admission caused a stir in public opinion because she was the daughter of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dr. Tr.T.K.T - Head of a faculty at Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine.
Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine at that time spoke out to affirm that the mother of candidate A.N.H, did not participate in any activities in the postgraduate enrollment process this year, in accordance with the principle of eliminating conflicts of interest and ensuring regulations in the current regulations on enrollment and doctoral training.
Regarding issues related to scientific articles submitted by candidate A.N.H to take the exam, Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine said that all scientific articles submitted by candidates are published in journals in the List of scientific journals to be scored in 2025, meeting the enrollment criteria in the Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
At the time the candidate submitted the application, the candidate submitted 8 articles, including: 5 articles published in domestic journals, which are 0-1-point journals according to the ranking of the State Professors' Council 2025, and 3 articles published in international journals, named in the Scopus List during the publication period.
Based on the 8 articles submitted by candidates, the total converted score for research experience is 11 points, but the maximum score (ceiling) for the research experience item is only 10 points, and these 10 points are used by the Professional Sub-committee to calculate the total score, the average total score of candidates is 88.8 points.
On October 8th, the school received a notice from the main author of an international article, in the list of articles candidate A.N.H submitted to calculate exam scores with the content of withdrawing the published article.
The converted score for the candidate's research experience with the remaining 7 papers is 9.5 points. Therefore, the Admissions Council agreed to reduce the total average score from 88.8 points to 88.3 points. With this score, it does not affect the admission results of the doctoral degree entrance exam.
