On November 5, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Trong Hao - Party Secretary of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine said that on October 20, the school received an email denouncing a number of individuals in the school for fraud in research and violations of scientific integrity.
After that, the school sent a letter inviting the whistleblower to work to provide more information, documents and evidence, but the whistleblower did not come.
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Trong Hao, based on Article 25 of the 2018 Law on Reprimand regulating the reception and handling of information with denunciations and Circular 05/2021/TT-TTCP dated October 1, 2021 of the Government Inspectorate regulating the process of handling complaints, denunciations, petitions, and reflections, the above denunciation email is anonymous and therefore does not meet the conditions for handling according to regulations.
However, the school's leaders said that because the content of the accusation was related to specific incidents and individuals of the school, the school proactively reviewed and verified the above accusations. The goal is to ensure that scientific training and research activities in the school comply with the principles of scientific integrity and legal regulations.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Hao added that Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine is currently drafting the Regulation on Scientific Integrity, collecting opinions from affiliated units and expected to issue it in the near future.
Regarding the Scientific integrity Working Group, Dr. Pham Quoc Dung - Vice Principal of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine said that this is a professional working group on scientific integrity in the recent postgraduate entrance exam.
This comes from the fact that there is a lot of information related to this issue online, including information about the candidate and a person from the school. The team conducts professional verification to serve the school's management activities.
"The group will verify professional issues based on regulations on scientific integrity as well as international practices in this field," Dr. Pham Quoc Dung informed.
